Conference Background


As a kind of high efficiency, low carbon and economic energy, nuclear energy plays an important dual role in meeting the long-term energy demand and dealing with the environment greenhouse effect. "Advanced nuclear fuel cycle system" is the key approach to realize the proliferation of nuclear fuel and the minimization of nuclear waste, and to ensure the safety and sustainable development of nuclear energy.

To promote the academic exchange and cooperation between China and Japan and other countries in the scientific research field of nuclear fuel cycle, and pay attention to the research progress in the field of nuclear fuel cycle in recent years, especially since the Fukushima nuclear power accident in Japan, and to enhance the vitality and influence of our research and development in this field, the Fifth China-Japan Academic Symposium on Nuclear Fuel Cycle (ASNFC 2019) is scheduled to be held in Harbin Engineering University, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, from 24 to 27 July 2019. The theme of the conference is "Advanced Nuclear fuel cycle". Experts, scholars and postgraduate students from relevant universities and research institutes in China, Japan and around the world are warmly welcome to participate and make academic presentations, discuss new achievements in this field and look forward to future development. At the same time, the exchange of personnel training experience and cooperation will be promoted by the relevant universities and research institutions from China, Japan and other countries of around the world.
